Summer Continues. At Light Speed.

It is amazing how fast things can grow when you have rain and 24 hours of daylight.
Birch tree outside the fence.
I planted a few dogwoods to dress up the road right of way (small yellowish bushes).

The newest addition to my family, Alvarez the Kitten.

I live in a beautiful place.

A beautiful place with lots of blueberries.
Lettuce from the cold frame.

The yard is really taking off.

A volunteer lupine.

Summer Progress Continues

New roof soffits and vents ready to be painted.

Things are starting to sprout in the yard, including a potato patch in the back right.

I had to take a break to attend a certain important wedding.

Heavy rain showed that the swale and overflow pipe worked as intended.

This big cottonwood tree was too close to the house if it were to come down in a high wind so I hired a contractor to remove it. Once it was gone the yard opened up dramatically.

The reformatted cottonwood tree in my driveway waiting to become garden pathways.
Random photo of my day job. This was a land use workshop in Eagle River, AK that we helped put together.

New Roof and Rhubarb Pie

The new roof was finally installed, once the rain stopped, and I got to start populating the garden.

The new roof material is like a pool liner, made out of PVC.

A top view of the emerging garden.
Yep, I grew that.

These grow themselves, I just had the privilege of cutting them. Pie was in order.

Broccoli and radishes coming along in the front raised bed.

Pretty plants including a calla lily.

This is where the strawberry came from.
Ever feel like you're up against a wall? Tillie was ready to go for a walk.
